ramshorn snail
The Ramshorn Snail has a digestive system almost identical to that of the Banana Slug. All the same digestive components are present in both species: a mouth, a radula, salivary glands and ducts, an esophagus, a stomach, a rectum, and an anus. Snails are physically identical to slugs, although their body is curled into a shell while slugs are not. Both species have the same way of eating, that is by scraping food off of objects using a radula, but a snail's anus is not on it's head, but rather inside the shell. The digestive is a key bodily system to a snail because snails are slow-paced animals and immediate food intake is absolutely necessary.
